A HEBREW-CHRISTIAN BLESSING
By Rev. Jack Molloy
Have you ever sought an opportunity to publicly express your love for Yeshua (Jesus) and acceptance of him as your Saviour? The next time you enjoy a meal with family or friends, you should offer a 'Hebrew-Christian blessing' for the food. Here is an example:
I recently enjoyed dinner with a large, diverse crowd. The meal took place at a beautiful restaurant on the Florida gulf coast on the beach's edge with a spectacular view of the water. Everyone began to find their seats around a large table and introduce themselves. After studying the menu, everyone ordered one by one. The table full of guests all continued talking and laughing with each other as the food began to arrive. I turned to the gentleman immediately to my left and asked, 'Have you ever heard a Hebrew-Christian blessing for a meal?' He responded that he had never heard one but would like to. At that point, I presented the blessing described above for our meal. The table continued devouring the fare with more stories and laughter, and in a little over an hour, we had all consumed our dinner. As everyone was settling the bill, the man on my left leaned over to me and quietly asked if it were possible to send him the Hebrew-Christian blessing I had recited.
Isn't it a joy when you can PROCLAIM the Word of GOD, PRESENT Y'shua (Jesus) as LORD, and PROMOTE love for Israel (the Jewish People) - even in a small way with a Hebrew-Christian blessing?
From the Book of Isaiah we read:
Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem (the Jewish People), and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins. (Isaiah 40:2)
And from the Book of Romans:
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Romans 1:16,17)
Shalom in the precious name of Y'shua (Jesus)
